Scotkat..Their isnt a pattern as such i just started a little square and kept going in trebles 3 in each hole and 3 slip stich and 3 on the corner to keep it square..when i started the little square i did 5 chains then joined it up then i just bodged the hook in and did 3 trebles in one hole and kept doing that 4 times then i just work from that..you get the 4 corners sorted then the rest seems to follow along.. I have got a crochet book you can have if you want its full of easy patterns send me your address and i will post it tommorow..

Great stuff, Scotkat and Wildflower! I really must get on with that shawl......

Here's what it WILL look like.....

    It's a very old pattern - first did it for a friend's 21st, when I was 22.... (that wasn't yesterday!)

Ok - just to shame myself into getting on with that shawl - here's a scan of part of it as it is now - and I'll put up another when it's a bit bigger - please do feel free to nag! :D

Just to give an idea - the first thing you do is do 291 chain......... that is the base row, which reaches from the tip of one hand stretched out, along the arm, back, and to the tip of the other arm. Then you gradually decrease the width to get the triangle shape of the shawl. The bit that takes longest ( or seems to anyway  ) is the fringe!
