Well, a picture would be worth a thousand words, but it's a wee bit dark now - I'll try and take some pics tomorrow. [IMG]

When digging up part of the garden in August, I came across what looked like a tiny brassica with most of its leaves eaten by slugs. For a laugh I put it into a 2 inch pot, and promptly forgot about it. I found it a couple of weeks ago, and it had turned into a tiny, but fully formed cauliflower, complete with flowering head (!)

It's nearly doubled in size now in the greenhouse, but the head is still less than 1cm across. It was pea-sized when i found it.....

I know there are competitions for the biggest veggies - now if there were some for the smallest...., I'd be in with a chance [IMG]

    cheers,
    Dave

My professional advice, Dave, woulld be to chop it up and chuck in the pot. :D Another question, why do you use 2" pots when the norm would be 3"? [IMG]

No David. A nice cheese sauce made with white wine (about a litre of it - a teaspoonful in the sauce and, drink the rest) Serve with a very rare 12 oz fillet steak and a chip. Yes a chip. :D

John, something has just crossed my mind. You talk in litres, but if you are as old as you try to make out, then why don`t you talk in quarts? [IMG] [IMG] :D :D

Errr.....um, dunno... maybe 'coz they looked about 2 inches-ish. Sort of. From memory. On a dark night....

Hmmm..... I guess they are 3 inches then ......

Which makes the cauliflower all of, ooh, maybe about 3/4 inch across? [IMG]

Aha! this must be nouvelle cuisine at it's best! Wait a mo', ...... I'm sure there's a 1" parsnip lurking somewhere.......
    ;)

    cheers,
    Dave
