I like your last one from your school folder. There is a lot of rhythm going on and its organic with echoes of an oak leaf too. Dont know what you intended, but I can respond to it. So it works for me.

I know what you mean about art teachers, but mine in the 60's was ok. He gave encouragement and helped me to express myself. Told me that rules were for dummies.

I realy hated the art lecturers I had at college because they were insincere. They went on and on spouting gobbldegook about the form and shape of Turner Prize junk and condemned the hard working amateur artists who genuinly struggled to produce original work. I finally walked out when they tried to get me to copy from photos Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

All those pictures from the knife downwards, in my opinion would have given you an 'O' level in art in the 60's. ;)

As I said,I did the Folder ones in a state of pique!...I just rattled them out using the brightest colours and hoped they clashed :D Seemed I got it right as far as 'Sir' was concerned [IMG]

Glad to hear it, Pal! :D

Loads of my school jotters were covered in Asterix pictures, particularly Getafix. I even got my Latin teacher drawing Asterix at the end of term, and during teachers' strikes, when most of the teachers and pupils weren't there....

Crikey - were you still at school only 10 years ago? Didn't realise you were such a youngster.

Excellent drawing of the knife!! Always saddens me when people say they would love to draw but can't. They can! The only thing that is stopping them is themselves. They should do what you have done - take pencil and paper and a simple object like a box or knife. Then look at it and just draw what they see. At first, things may not turn out quite the way that is wanted, but with practise it will. The tricky bit is to make a two dimensional representation of a three dimensional object - but that's what its all about. You have to watch the angles and create the illusion of depth with perspective.

You have succeeded very well. Bet you can still do it too - even after a 10 year gap.
