      Just read through this thread, interesting stuff:) Too late now, but will try some next year. I don't like too much heat, so can someone suggest a mild one? Just want to play it safe:)

      There is an unbelievable ammount of Chili growing info on the web , it seems to be a very addictive growing hobby hence the term ChiliHeads ! The heat is rated on the scoville scale shown on the link below . I would recommend keeping to the 5000 - 10000 scoville range ,the orange section on the link below , keep away from the lunatic weapon grade ones like the Infinity at 1 million units !!!!!

      I am very pleased with the Fresno I have grown this year. It bears a lot of fruit and has a nice heat/taste.

        For anyone who hasn't been to one I can recommend a trip to a chilli festival. Most of them not only have stalls that sell chilli plants and products (where you can taste them) but have stalls that sell all kinds of meals that contain chillies - from mild to hot. No need to take any sarnies with you.

          I'm wondering if even a milder one, like the Jalapeno, might still be a bit on the hot side, for my taste? I would be looking for something that would compliment the flavour, not take it over. A 50/50 relationship, if you get my meaning:)

          I have already spotted a Chilli, 'Meek and Mild', described as a Poblano type. Just been thinking, I reckon a good way to go is to try that one, and a Jalapeno:blue thumb:

          And another two that are starting to change colour which will be red in a matter of days - amazingly bright red colour too.
