Best leave em till they have a few more leaves, you could do it now, but they will feel a bit dwarfed by a bigger pot, and they are a bit delicate now.

Kyle, you transfer to 75mm pots when the seedlings have developed 2 sets of true leaves - the first leaves you see are the cotyledons or baby leaves which will die back after a few weeks. Last year it was 5-6 weeks before I pricked them out . Pic shows a few chillis about a week after pricking out you can see the true leaves and the cotyledons ( the other plants are cannas ) . Make sure you keep them warm with plenty of light the GK's opened the window near the Chillis and they all drooped :shocked:luckily they came back pretty quickly. We really liked the Chilli plants last year, they look really tropical , not suprising as they come from the tropics :D

The tiny ones are the hottest (about Naga strength) closely followed by the straight, thin, pointed ones. Then comes the long thin slightly curly ones and after that the others vary in strength - even on the same plant

I differ from the accepted wisdom and pot on into plugs when the first leaves are open, as I prefer less root disturbance. I then pot them on into 10cm pots mid April.

I have just received a packet of sweet pepper seeds from Jungle Seeds today, for the first time. So I am watching this thread with interest. Many thanks to all you contributors.

I assume sweet peppers grow the same way as chilli peppers - I understand that they are all the same species.

Yes, they're the same species but the sweet peppers tend to be a bit hardier.

Shiney an impressive crop of Chillis :dbgrtmb: Are you actually picking them now in January ?
Peter I understand that sweet pepper culture is the same as Chillis. There are a host of pepper chili sites , in fact it seems to be an obsession with a lot of growers.

In the next few days I will be starting off Jalapeno,Thai and some I kept the seeds from that I bought from the asian shop, the normal long ones used for curries?
My Thai ones are still flowering from last year:thumbsup:
But wonder how long seeds need to be kept before planting if saved from your own chillies?
Also last year all my sweet peppers had what looked red spider mite inside the peppers so I had to sling them:o

I've just started off some Naga Viper, JalapeƱo, Nagalagh, and exploding embers. All now in heated propagators.

I like the embers as they start out a lovely purple colour.

I'll add a picture every few weeks when it looks a bit different to ensure it's not dying, or something :D
