No. We know how HIV spreads. While we keep being told how ebola spreads, we keep getting cases of people who were wearing full protective gear and exercising a 'no physical contact' policy getting ebola. Somebody is either not telling the truth, or more likely (and really the same thing), nobody really knows for sure how it spreads.

But in any case, we're not talking about HIV. We're talking about ebola. I hope the so called professionals are not trying to generalise and cloud matters with unrelated issues. Or perhaps they are, and that's why there is still a problem perhaps?

I can't believe the Daily Mail would hype up a headline like this to increase its sales - shocked -:hate-shocked: Now we did have a very good summer this year , but as Ebola is a tropical disease it cannot become pandemic in our northerly latitudes "it doesn't work like that ". I bet at least a third of us GC members will make it through next year.

These same people are working and living in an area where there is an Ebola outbreak. They do not spend their lives in full protective clothing.
When working they are in extreme contact with Ebola and at some point they have to remove that protective clothing and this is the most likely point of infection despite all the procedures.

The nurse was checked seven times when she arrived back at Heathrow. Her temperature was OK each time. She did the right thing as soon as she realised her temperature had risen.

Although, in theory, it would be good to keep the returnees isolated, and flown home separately, it's not a practical solution. The cost is likely to be so prohibitive that they couldn't afford to let anyone go out there to help in the crisis. Then Ebola would get a chance to run rife throughout Africa and spread to other continents.

I have no idea what the best solution is. :noidea:

One of the other two suspected cases in Scotland has now been cleared. :blue thumb:

Hence the need for a stint in quarantine. People in "extreme contract with Ebola", a very deadly disease, just allowed to carry whatever they might be carrying across international boundaries to wherever they want? If that was a storyline in a movie I'd dismiss that movie as implausible.

Just got back home and turned on Sky News and the running headlines at the bottom of the screen says the nurse up in Scotland has gone down hill and she is now in a critical condition so let's hope they have managed to track down all the other people she came into contact with:yikes:

Problem is Val they are trying new drugs on her to see if they can stop it and at the moment they have said she has worsened which could be the result of the drugs that is being pumped into her and she might start to improve in a few days.If not she will end up the same way as all the others that have already succumbed to this terrible disease:sad:

I sometimes think in cases like this they should leave the victims and their families well alone instead of sending masses of people to try and save them all as fresh people are bound to be infected once they near the patients and so the disease can travel from village to village town to town, country to country. At last if the villages were cut off like the Plague villages of the past then eventually the disease will die out because there will be nobody left to get infected.

I tip my hat to the folk that went over to help those people infected with the virus..But the lass that came back home told those folk that screened her that she wasn't feeling to good and they said that all her results came back clear...I think they should they keep them in isolation/safe house for 7/10 days when they return to the uk to see if any symptoms appear:dunno:

Oh I think those in authority are taking it seriously, in much the same was a flock of chickens will take the appearance of a fox in their run seriously. I.e they all run and flap about and make a lot of noise.
