Hi Ermintrude and welcome to the forum.

Different people will always have different ways to do certain things and this alone may appear eccentric to some. I'm all for being different I mean life would be far too boring if everything or everyone was the same. I have always encouraged our children to be extroverts as are Bob and I .....I mean why be a sheep? when you could be having so much fun!

Cat poop flinging is a dying art! :thmb::D Hel.xxx.

I wonder what an Eccentric Gardener does as compared to a normal gardener?

I wonder if going out and talking to the plants is eccentric.
I talk to them because they are great listeners and always nod at the right moments.
I have neer had any bad advise from my plants.
Billie the cat thinks I'm normal.
    Himself thinks I'm certified.
    Me, I don't care.

apologies to one and all. Using the word eccentric was perhaps the wrong use of word and I see it caused rather a stir. I'm looking for gardeners who go the extra mile, that stick out that little bit more than the rest of us, their passions know no bounds .... it's a lovely little set of films for BBC ONE ...

Now that the criteria have changed I guess that BM's garden might fit the bill :gnthb: :)

On the eccentric bit - I've been labelled eccentric all my life so that is normal for me:thumb:. Does that make me normal or eccentric? :yho:

We are all bonkers in our own ways it makes the world go round!!

My garden currently looks like a shanty town with various shelters, temporary plastic greenhouses etc keeping things dry, or warm!!

And as to out kitchen - its full of plants!

Eccentric? maybe. I was a potter until about six years ago, the work dried up so I became a "professional" gardener, i.e. I do it for financial reward. Successful? Well, naively, I applied for a place at The Chelsea flower Show last year and I've now built two award winning gardens and my third design has been accepted for next year. If mad and eccentric are the same thing then I'm your man!

    Hello, Ermintrude,
I think, You will not find the normal people between flowers collectors or hybridizers. Good luck to look for normal between them !:lollol:
