    Right so its a tough world for a racing pigeon.
    I'll just let it hang around then, by the sounds of it the owners dont give a toss anyway.;)

        If only that were true Pete! :biggrin: My brother for one is upset by every bird that doesn't return, not because it's failed in a race but because he doesn't know what's happened to it. Whether the bird is returned to the owner or not they still like to know whether it's dead or alive, or if there is a chance of it being returned to them. :)

          By coincidence they were discussing racing pigeons on the Jeremy Vine programme, seems that the pigeon fanciers think there are now too many birds of prey around and their birds keep getting killed. The birds of prey are a protected species so there is nothing legal they can do about it. The 'fanciers' who phoned the programme were devoted to their birds and were upset that the RSPB didn't care about the situation.
