Completely appreciate they have moved fully to EV cars, I think it dumb but not my business, but what on earth is in their heads with this campaign?! How does it encourage EV take up? It just looks seriously weird and I'd avoid a new Jag like the plague

Jaguar are obviously aiming their new electric cars at a different part of the market.
They should have changed the name as well if that is their aim.
Has anyone seen the new car what I saw of the ad didn't actually mention cars.

Not sure they have one yet ; I'm struggling to understand their target audience

I sometimes wonder if these advertising agencies come up with really controversial and even embarrassing adverts just to get more people talking about them.
It does seem to work, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Don't like the rebrand at all, new models are going to be revealed 2nd December in Miami of all places! At an art week  surprised they didn't rebrand to Jagwar to keep our transatlantic cousins happy.

It's a big mistake to stop selling new models for 2 years, how will dealers survive? Ignoring lessons from the past when British Leyland ditched half their dealerships, the snubbed half began selling Datsuns etc and BL went down the pan and had to sell off their crown jewels, Jaguar and Land Rover, to the Americans.

The only positive bit I can pick out is the plan to make the new models and batteries in the UK, as their current EVs are all made abroad.

From how I can remember it being discussed by car companies it is the UK and EU regulation that is the cause of the loss of jobs. The Zero Emission Vehicle mandate says that they must sell at least 80% EV's by 2030 and it goes up to 100% by 2035.

Whether this government will stick to that mandate brought in by the Conservatives is yet to be known.

If that figure hasn't been reached they will be fined £15,000 per vehicle below that limit. It's not surprising they are saying they intend to reduce production and sales over here. Will it have an effect on whether Labour keep the mandate is anyone's guess.

Pathway for zero emission vehicle transition by 2035 becomes law.

To my thinking the first line of that says it all, the UK has the most ambitious plan in the world.
We are crippling our industry just to be first, for some strange reason.

I wouldn't mind so much if we were the ones coming up with the technology, but we appear to be buying it off every one else.

It is the same as everything nowadays (and part of the reason the word 'woke' gets chucked around, incorrectly); it is nothing more than virtue signalling

The closes they have come is showing the teaser of part of one - looks remarkably similar to an air conditioning unit. If I come across it later, I will post a copy

They won't stick to that - not if they want to sell cars. Bluntly, we cannot compete anywhere near the Chinese on prices for battery tech, nor do we have the raw minerals here to do so (we'd have to import them), so that will hit home pretty fast; cap that off by having their backside spanked when it comes to build quality and they will shift pretty smartish to where it is cheaper to build.

As for the dealers, they will be hoping that the Land Rover stuff keeps them going, but I have a feeling that manufacturers have seen Tesla selling direct to the public and want to do the same to maximise profits by cutting out the middle man. They don't give a toss about customer service already, so they've nothing much to lose there.

It does - I can barely believe that they think it to be a good teaser image, even if it is only for a concept car. Best of it is, they released it with the tagline 'Copy Nothing'... yet it seems they copied an air vent or a drain!

Looks like a wide wheel base with sod all room inside.
Is this the front or the back? ether way it looks like they have forgotten the window/windscreen.
