Don't all governments bin the green commitments? I don't think there has ever been a policy or commitment made that wasn't watered down to the point of pointlessness or ignored completely

He realises that he is about to get handed his backside at the polls, so wants to try and throw voters a bone. Trouble is, he is such a snake that nobody will trust him not to renege on the reversal once re-elected (not that he has any chance of re-election... Zsa Zsa Gabor has more chance of being elected than he does, and she's been dead for years!

The problem is if you vote green we will all be walking about in flax and sacking and living in caves, the others pretend to be green but tend to be a bit more realistic and say things that are not viable, and dont carry them out.
We would be in a dire state if they did bring in some of these schemes they say they will.

Not sure Sir Starmer is going the right way about things, if he cant defeat the Tory's when they are at this low ebb he needs to get a proper job, but he his a ditherer and has a very dodgy team backing him, the one with all the hair really gets on my wick, to name just a few.

In fairness, Starmer has got Khan and Drakeford batting against him and he himself is such a flip-flop it is almost unreal.

That's what makes him un electable, the loonies will take over, he isn't convincing, often I get the impression that those behind him are doing the pushing and he is being carried along.

He comes over as weak IMO, I wouldn't trust him being able to keep the loonies in check.

I've been saying it for years - our whole political system is cattle-trucked... how we begin to fix it, I have no clue, but something really needs to change.

Which kind of says it all about where we are and the choices we have been given. Pretty poor really.
And they cannot understand why people dont vote.

It appears to me that almost all countries seem to have politicians that are much more unsuitable for office than they used to be.

I think there's a chance that we may have an early election, guessing April or May, as it may be a good political and practical move for the Tories to get out before things go further down the can.

Ken Livingstone is now not an option for the left Labour voters as he has Alzheimer's.

I've noticed this, but never been sure if this was the politicians changing or because my views and knowledge have changed.

I think it is partly influenced by social media and they are trying to cater to their most voluble, if uninformed, public. There is nothing wrong with social media, in theory, but a large portion of the public seem to believe what is posted without checking facts - but please don't be influenced by what I say :roflol:

We tend to know more about politicians these days I think.
Even Harold Wilson was on the fiddle I think at the time but it took a while to come out.
Modern politicians tend to get scrutinised more so they almost become celebrities.
