Electric for pump

    I know that Dave,;)

    But it wasn't until I put the 13amp one in the plug that I got a big enough bang to work out where the problem was.:)

    Should add, nobody, or animals were harmed during this experiment.
    I switched it on from a safe distance.:blue thumb:

      This is a temporary set up as the house is rented so use the temporary fix and use an outside extension cable which is permissable.Presumably the pump has a sealed wire from it?
      If you were to implement a permanent cable (why if this isn't your house?), it falls under part P of the wiring regs and you would absolutely require permission from the landlady prior to works and signed off by a pro. Do not do the work yourself as by the sound of your original posting you'll get someone killed.

      Thanks everyone for advice. My pond is now sorted I returned the original pump and brought a all in one pump,filter and uv. As these are low voltage it came with a outside transformer so with help from a neighbour its now set up and water is gradually clearing.
