Manic miner worked on Tandy, Dragon, BBC, Amiga and no doubt many other machines too.

Very famous game Manic Miner , the first major platform game for the home computer. I played it on the Spectrum , was never any good at it though.

Tandy! By goodness there's a name you don't hear nowadays - not to be confused with Tandon who were altogether more serious

Aye, sadly a lot of it was utter tat - a quick search of their resultant brand (RadioShack) shows they continue to lurch from one disaster to the next. Shame, because in some ways they could have been onto a really good thing, but sadly they wouldn't know quality or customer service if it bit them on the bum

Oh yes, Paperboy! Don't suppose anyone remembers those text based games, seem to remember one called leather goddesses lent to me by a colleague, never did get the hang of it lol ! But I loved Ghosts and ghouls, still remember the music now. And blues brothers . Must get a version of that!

Including the Amstrad CPC 464 with its green screen monitor:)

Would that be hardcore Tandy, the electronics shop, or even more hardcore tandy, the serious musical instrument and acoustical gadget shop?

Incidentally, anyone missing these old games need miss them no more. Pretty much everything is now available online. There are emulators for most old machines, and ROMs for the games. Bubble Bobble was mentioned, which reminded me that there is the MAME project (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator). Google 'MAME emulator' to find a choice of downloads. Having done so, then google 'MAME ROMs' for loads of games. Same for SNES and lots of other platforms not directly covered by the MAME project.
