Doesn't cost you a thing, woo. You already have it on your Windows as an alternative.

You just go Start > All Programmes > Microsoft Office (or what ever you have) > Microsoft Outlook. Like this ........

Woo, I feel for you, I really do.

I don`t use OE at all, and a system restore just made the matter worse for me-I got quite frustrated and then couldn`t think straight.

Have a good rest and don`t think about it.

Instead put some pics of your lovely roses up for us to appreciate instead-you can`t go wrong with those can you.

It's an alternative to Internet Explorer, woo. Remember I asked you if you used FireFox? Well, that's another alternative. There are dozens of them out there.

All nothing to do with Outlook Express!

    Hi Woo
Sorry to see that you've been set upon by the nasty IT gremlins yet again.

I don't really have enough info about your original email setup to go on, but it seems to me that OE has somehow lost the configuration that was originally working fine for you.
My guess is that all you really need to do is set it up again properly. Forget about downloading alternatives (browsers, email clients, operating systems) And as far as I know Outlook (not Outlook Express which is part of Windows) will not handle web based mail.
Here's a link that may help you set up your Google Mail to run through OE.
I'm a bit busy this morning, but if I see you are still stuck this evening I'll try to do some screen captures to show configuration of OE.
    Good luck!

So how did you solve it Woo? I don't understand all these things either , I just use whatever seems to work but don't know where it 'comes from' etc.

I didn't have Office on my PC when I bought it only MS Works. I wanted Office but it was expensive, however if you have a student in the house you can get it discounted. That's all I'm saying except I got Office at the same time & I am well past 16!!!!!

    cheers

Woo, I have to tell you - I had to change the hard drive in my laptop last week and so had to set up emails all over again. Well, I'd already done that successfully on my desk top so with not a small measure of smugness I did the same again. But it wouldn't work. I vain I entered the details again and again and still no go. So I rang TalkTalk - about 20 mins in the queue! - and finally, having explained all my woes to the man, he went through the details and that was when I found that for a password I was using my TalkTalk account number, not my password!

    Was my face red!
