By the way don't spend a fortune on Epsom Salts at Garden Centres, it's much cheaper at the Chemist - just ask for Magnesium Sulphate. A small 500g box has lasted me several years as you only need a teaspoon at a time (when used as a foliar spray).

So can brugmansia be sprayed instead of me sprinkling more round the top of pots?

I use it when planting tomato plants. I put a tablespoon full of Epsom salts in the hole, just like the article says.

Yes - the foliar spray has a faster affect when Brug's leafs are yellow.

I use it on Tomatoes, Strawberries, Runner Beans and outdoor Cucumbers, especially any surplus/specially grown plants destined for car boot sales as applying an Epson Salts foliar spray can transform sickly looking plants to healthy specimens in a very short space of time.

                I've used ebay/Amazon

Just looked Epsom salts up on Wiki . It does seem to be the wonder chemical...here is a small extract of its uses...
"Epsom salt has been traditionally used as a component of bath salts. Epsom salt can also be used as a beauty product. Athletes use it to soothe sore muscles, while gardeners use it to improve crops. It has a variety of other uses: for example, Epsom salt is also effective in the removal of splinters."

I keep looking up uses for Epsom Salts , and the multitude of uses get more and more bizarre !
Two recipes below for a lawn feed / tonic . Do you really add icing sugar and listerine to an epsom salt mix  Or is fake news entering the gardening world......

1- Stir 125 g (1 lb) of icing sugar and 1.8 kg (4 lb) of Epsom salts into the lawn fertiliser using a large spoon or a gloved hand. Using your spreader, apply the mixture onto the lawn at a medium setting.

2 - Blend 240 g (1 cup) Epsom salt, 237 ml (1 cup) liquid soap, 237 ml (1 cup) ammonia, two cans of beer and 237 ml (1 cup) Listerine mouthwash. Add enough water to make 4.5 litres (1 gallon) of fluid and apply to 232 square metres (2,500 square feet) of lawn using a sprayer attachment on a hose.
