    Yes, I should have said I wasn't cutting right back to the beginning of the healthy trunk, just to make it more managable to move :) (with having so many other plants :heehee:)

    If you look closely in the photo you can see a ridge in the trunk and I think that is now healthy trunk below it, where the shoots have come from and above it I'm not expecting to see any signs of life now :)

    This is exactly how my last Erythrinas grew when I've grown them in the past and they flowered in the second year, so fingers crossed :)

    I always find they dieback quite a long way.
    One of mine has died right back to the soil level, but I think the roots are still alive.

    The other one has been growing for over a month now and has been on the allotment for a couple of weeks.

      I think this confirms you are correct longk, one I thought was dead has produced a shoot from underground near the old stem.
