      There's a beautiful blue sky overhead this morning. (Well, it wouldn't be anywhere else, would it?)

          In Antarctica, there is ice that has been there for over a million years.

            Oh no. There is that saying again....Recently when I was in New Orleans I tried a Corona beer. I haven't been a beer drinker for some 20 years except for an occasional Lowenbrau but it was hot and humid and this little patio pub offering cold beer was a welcome stop for our group.

            I had never had a Corona but was told that it was particlarly refreshing with lime in it. So I added the lime wedge. It refused to sink so I shook the bottle......yes, my brain was on holiday too.

            So after my shaken not stirred we visited a beignet establishment.

            Ever seen a beer soaked old broad (read sticky) then sprinkled with copious amounts of confectioners sugar?

            shaken not stirred.......:doh::doh::doh:

              This reminds me of one of my favourite beer tricks. It only works with gassy beers. Newcastle Brown Ale is best but other gassy beers in bottles work too.

              When your friends is there with his or her freshly opened bottle of beer, take your glass or bottle, and gently bang the top of their bottle as though doing a sort of cheers but from above instead of sideways. The aim is not just to bang their bottle, but also to suddenly compress the air in the neck of it by striking directly on the top. Then just act casual. It takes about 2 to 3 seconds for the reaction to start. You've just activated a chain reaction that makes all their bubbles dislodge at once. The result is an unstoppable fountain. The beer is leaving the bottle no matter what. I've seen it spray several feet when the owner of said bottle tries in vain to restrain it by placing their thumb over the top.

                Like Newcastle Brown however gave it up 20 years ago so I wouldn't have to worry about doing 20 months for lewd behaviour :biggrin:

                  Canary's actually do come from the Canary Islands.
                  The bird is named after the islands , as the islands are named after canis ( dogs ) which were found there.

                    You can find evidence of continuing human evolution in people living today.

                    If you touch the tip of your thumb against the tip of your pinky on the same hand, some will see a tendon protrude under the skin of the forearm, some will not. Some boffins reckon this is proof that our hands are still adapting away from needing a strong grip and towards greater manual dexterity.

                    Another quirk of continuing evolution can be seen in our toes. Many people can not raise their big toe while bending the tip down at the same time. Even fewer people can raise their little toe at all. Some of this is down to a part of the brain that prioritises fine motor control, but in some people various nerves and tendons are actually merged, so that no amount of mental effort will ever change their ability to control these digits independently.

                      For most people the length of their foot matches the length from wrist to elbow.
