And here is another useless fact, the first of a few on the same subject.

        Swedish pea soup is yellow...

Salt and mustard are the only things used to flavour Swedish pea soup...

Not if there are small pieces of ham in it as well its not! :snork:

Bonus fact: Yellow snow is not Swedish pea soup that has gone cold!

When you have young children, you can't even go to the loo without having to shout down to demand that the fight that's broke out ceases immediately.

Continuing on the pea soup theme (I'm in practice for a boredom team) It is always accompanied by the same dessert. Pancakes with cream and a choice of either raspberry or strawberry jam. One, but not both jams.

When pea soup is mentioned I always think of the peasouper fogs in London when I was a lad. They were so thick that you couldn't see your feet. :rolleyespink:

I get a similar effect now but it's because my tummy gets in the way. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The most expensive handbag in the world is

                      Mouawad’s 1001 Nights Diamond Purse just a snip at $3.8 million. :) :)

Certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive handbag in the world, this one of a kind bag is the masterwork of 10 professional artisans who put in 8,800 hours to complete the bag. The heart-shaped purse is hammered and fashioned from 18k gold but the real highlight are the precious stones that adorn its surface – 56 pink diamonds, 105 yellow diamonds and 4,356 colourless diamonds.

The smelliest, stinkyist food in the world and No ! I haven't tried it. :) :)

                          Surströmming, Sweden

Baltic sea herring are fermented for at least six months to create Surströmming, the Swedish delicacy that is widely considered to be the smelliest food in the world. The smell has been described as: "a mixture of used nappies full of No. 2, that have been left to linger unsealed at the bottom of a bin in a hot country, combined with the unmistakable and sharp note of dog faeces".

Yes, it does smell rather rank

As does the smelliest fruit in the world - Durian. This fruit is banned on all airlines! It actually tastes quite nice.

Surströmming? Wonderful stuff...eat it with an almond potato pie garnished with caviar and cream, or in a wrap with red onion, butter, the previously mentioned potatoes....Mmmm, I'm longing for next years surströmming parties already. Drink beer or schnapps with it, or for a bit of finesse, sherry...:dbgrtmb:
