I dont think commuting is the answer:loll:, but I do wonder how we have come to this situation where by it depends on what side of an imaginary line you live, determines whether you pay or not.
Just a minute, is it down to where you live, or where the doctor surgery is situated?

I've just found an email from the surgery, its basically apologising for me not being offered a late afternoon appointment, and asking if a 4.20pm on the first of April will be OK.
    April fools day:scratch:

Probably get there and find it was all a joke.

    :heehee: Poor Pete.

Have you thought of getting a prepaid certificate? I used one until I hit the golden age! They're £28.25 for 3 months and £104.00 for 12 months. With the 3 month one, after the 4th item, the rest are free, with the 12 month one, after the 14th item all the rest are free! I saved heaps over the years.

I dont get that amount of prescriptions Daisees thank god.

Still looks very expensive when bearing in mind that most people dont actually pay anything.
And I think I'm right in saying that when Tony Blair took over the reigns it was only about 40p:mad:

Oh good - it seemed like you were. But you're right about the cost - I was shocked when I saw it was £7.20 per item. And a friend of mine was written up for a single paltry box of 50 paracetamol and she used the prescription! She could have got nearly the same amount from Asda for less than 60p!

The chemist (or dispenser at the surgery if you have one) is supposed to tell you if it is cheaper to buy it than using the prescription price.
