Well, I don't do any of the games, refuse to.
Usually on the way to and home from work, my cell is busy with work staff still calling or issues I need to deal with. When I am home, like it peace and quiet. I talk all day at work. On facebook I get to interact with people far far far away, too expensive for phone, and the time difference is nuts to deal with.

I don't have a Facebook account. As you say MM, who wants to read about somebody's breakfast. I've also seen the demise of friendships because of it. People have forgotten how to talk to each other and with all the mobile phones in this world, you wonder why.

I prefer to use my brain for something more intelligent.:)

Hmm, well out of all my "friends" no one ever tells me what they had for breakfast.

Actually I see friendship growing because of different social networking. What your on right now is one type of social network. If it was not for this "type" of social network you would not be able to discuss gardening. I know some folks, such as yourself ---Sheal---need a structured social network. Yeah, for the choice of a variety of social networking.

RedStar if I may say it, you are along with your friends more mature
The younger ones under 35 the talk was banal or indeed shocking
As ex RN I am not adverse to language and life, and no not really shocked, but somethings you just do not publish to the world Though I admit it was interesting :)

Thank you Jack. But what I've said several times on this thread is that your in control of your Facebook. You only let folks on that you really want to talk to.
I have several doctors on mine, other gardeners, great cooks, teachers, city mayor, nurses, animal advocates. Facebook is like, your having a party and inviting your favorite friends or people that have "your interest". So you know the conversation will be good with you and all.
I do not do the games, refuse. In the past one person did games continually on my book, so I told her not to take it personnally but I would have to knock her off since I don't want games cluddering up my facebook, and I knocked her off. She was ok with it, and we just message once in a blue moon.

            Again, its all about control.

Yes RedStar I realise that, just I took it up at the time as the TEAM all young ones encourage this old git to
Only it ended up with something about a farm and stuff where I lost it? or was that BEBO?
Anyway other than my young work collegues, no one else in my circle use it so I ditched it

To be honest no one in my age group and friends are into IT I have managed to get my SIL on the internet and email, only it is not used much
My brother and I live far apart and it is ideal to keep in daily contact, Unfortuantley at the other end it is still me with the weekly phone call and pointing them to our young families pictures and what is going on
The only use of their computer was accounting and filing returns when he was self employed
Know the wonder he was investigated by the authorities

at least make sure your kids know what to post on facebook and what not

my son told about a fella in school who posted photos of himself naked and has quite a hard time now (they don't seem to think far ahead sometimes??)

read a nice comment last time about the issue: all the future presidents and business CEOs etc. are now posting all their maybe very private stuff..

People have such different views on Face Book and I know Redstar does have confidence in it and, having her head screwed on, uses it wisely. But we have talked about this before and if you'll bear with me I'll repeat what I posted in an earlier thread as I think it is still relevant:

No sauce. I put a sprinkling of cayenne pepper on usually, just to liven it up a bit.
