Well, I really feared the end of the month would come and I would not manage to take a single picture for this comp, which was a shame since I really like the theme. I told my hubby I wanted a hand for a picture, quite literally, and he started panicking about scratches, broken nails and whatnots, blimey, hard working men are not what they used to be :D

(btw, I did NOT get roses, grrrrr)

You always come up trumps, Ivory ... or is that hands up today :)

Roses ... never had them in 41 years. Carnations twice (which are my favourite flower because of the spicy scent) ... on my 21st/our 1st (same day) I had red and white Carnations on a box of chocolates and on my 40th/our 20th I had 40 red and 20 white long-stemmed Carnations delivered to me at work .... quite a shock and very difficult getting them home in an Austin Sprite sports car ... I couldn't see to drive ... :hehe:

Flowers are beautiful ... as we all know ... but they mean nothing if there is nothing 'behind' it ....

I must say that jewels, in particular rings, were in place of the flowers .... diamonds are forever (and other gems) ... :luv:

    Hands up,most definitely. Don't shoot! :D

Funny enough, I don't wear any jewels exept the occasional silver trinkett you get at craft fairs for 5 euros, wear for a few weeks, and then forget about. That is why it is a soretrial that the hubby is not a flower man! :D

The loveliest gem I posses is cabochon aquamarine that the jeweler was giving away practically gratis because it is "defective", meaning that it has a flaw, andthe colour is more green than blue... but it was exactly the same green shade of the eyes of my lover, and I loved it on first sight. A friend set it in silver for me (it's a rather alternative setting, I agree). Even wrote a poem for it:
    I bought an aquamarine
the same green as your eyes
    I don't know yet
if it is beautiful or scary
The transparency of your irises in the sun
    chained in lifeless silver
