Feeders help please.

    I now use the chipped sunflower heart seeds which flow much more easily and actually cause less mess because the smaller birds like the goldfinches don't need to break them into pieces.

      Damp is pretty much the default setting here for most of the year, so I just go with it - not much I can do to change it!
      I always use a no mess seed mix.

        @Butterfly6 your nuthatch is brilliant! Hehe!!
        My mum's resident blackbird has been known to tap on the bathroom window while she's on the loo.

        Back to feeders.. I fill mine up in the evening for the morning - the birds are up way earlier than me as I'm a night worker.
        If I put seed mix in, most of it will end up on the floor, and we get the odd rat - I really don't want to see more than one, and haven't so far (touch wood, etc etc).
        Buying crushed hearts is too expensive, so that's out..
        I s'pose I just have to stay in the feeder tappers' club, lol!
