You could get them to do the Ice Queen...

... well its just an insulating blanket effect really, all the little air gaps in the fleece traps the heat. Also its good at shading later in the season.

Claire... you quoted the Y word in your post.. :yho::yho:
My earliers are now to the top of the bags and earthed up.
The big black bin shoots are nearly to the top and the lates are really only just sticking their heads out.
It all looks as it says on the box.
Hope theres no frost, but I do have load of fleece on standby

Don't let them dry out. Keep them moist - don't under or over water them (easy to say, more difficult to get right - just don't drown them). :thumb:

Thanks did that earlier on today - is it worth me starting again with the potatoes or can they be salvaged?

I doubt they will be wasted, the tubers will just have been sitting in there waiting for some water. There must have been some moisture so they might already have started, I think you'll find they will soon appear.

Mine are Nicola, some in the veg plots and some in compost bags, nicely filled with my own compost. The ones in the bags are much further along than the ones in the ground. I just keep topping up the compost, with a bit of growmore thrown in.
