Feeding

    Interesting, I thought the advice was not to feed seedlings and young plants. I might try giving some of my bigger ones miraclegrow at half strength. I did wonder about nutrients as they are in John Ins No1 so there can't be much in that.

    Am I right in thinking I shouldn't start feeding my tomato plants until after they have flowered?

    Good advice about the miraclegrow, I buy the liquid stuff you dilute and get through loads of it. I'll seek out the granuals now!!!

    Ellie, I don't grow veg - but I see nothing wrong with feeding now with say Miraclegrow - a balanced feed. Then when they look ready to start flowering I would switch to a high Potassium feed - ie any Tomato feed or Phostrogen, which is essentially the same stuff but in powder form and half the price.

    I think I hav gone a bit mad this time, I have about 200 plants on the go - I will have a lot of potting on to do!
