    Congrats. From experience all the background check will ask your former employer is did person X work for you between X and X (as per your CV). It is normally companies like Kroll who do it, not the company itself - Financial organisations are more worried about past financial problems you may have had, so will have done a credit check. Guess you passed that, so the former employer info is not so important,esp as you were made redundant and not sacked!
