Solved Flowering shrub id please

    I think one of my seedsown bushes has semi double flowers, i have a double red and white one in the front garden which is one of the originals I bought.
    Also one of my seeded plants has bigger flowers than the others.

      I had a look at my double white, double blue and double lilac Hs. There are a few seed pods on each but no baby plants around them, so it looks as though they're sterile after all. Just out of interest I'll stick a few cuttings in. Never tried before but you never know....

        I think what is often the case with double flowers, some of what would have been the fertile parts, stigmas and stamens or whatever, actually mutate into the extra petals that make the flower a double.
