Some moron(s) have kicked the one and only Puffball to appear into tiny pieces, something which very often happens when they appear early during the school summer hols. Being only one, I was going to leave it, now wish I'd had it for my breakfast with scrambled eggs and veggie sausages.

Now up to 277lbs of Blackberries. Need another 24lbs, then want a further 15lbs.

EDIT1: Now up to 286lbs of Blackberries.
    EDIT2: Up to 21lbs 8ozs of Elderberries.

Picked some more Elderberries yesterday, another 9lbs in the freezer after de-stemming and sieving out the unripe floaters, 16lbs so far, only 2lbs more required, but I've had all the low ones and will now take my 8 section screw together poles that fit in my rucksack, hook at one end for pulling down branches to make picking easier/or pulling off wallnuts, chestnuts, etc., Wolf tool connector fitting on other end to take apple picker, large hook for shaking down apples for pressing, or cord operated anvil loppers for cutting Elderflowers then Elderberries, enables me to get stuff from as high as 6m above ground - I take my foraging seriously.

Probably Damsons next, then wild Apples/Crab Apples, then nuts.

Now up to 301lbs of Blackberries and 23lbs 9ozs of Elderberries, juiceing most of them early tomorrow morning on Economy 7.

Taking a week off picking (apart from the last 7ozs of Elderberries I need) as I'm sticking a load of ice blocks in the freezer to head off fishing, and I've also got to sort stuff out for the village show.

The last lot of bottled Backberry and wild Plum juice is now stored in my shed [1] and this additional bottled Blackberry, Elderberry/Blackberry and Plum juice will get stacked on top, think it's 172 bottles so far. I've also pressed and bottled 52 x 750ml bottles of Apple juice. Good job I've got around 600 x 750ml bottles as there's loads more stuff to bottle this year.

            Previously bottled stuff ...

I've got loads of big ones pulled out of pub refurb skips, but the most useful ones are a couple of 12 x bottle ones (15 × counting across top of rack) that I use when pasteurising after capping, so the bottles lie horizontal and the top bits are sterilized.

This is, I suppose, foraging but not for food recipes.

I think the farmer slightly overloaded his vehicle after harvesting and this fell off the boack of his lorry as he went by. :noidea:

The traffic is too fast and dangerous outside our house so Mrs Shiney could only pick up this amount - 20lb. :blue thumb:

Now the cereals harvesting has started I keep and look out for straw bales tha have fallen off the back of trailers, sometimes there's a part ĺoad of logs to be had, or a bag of coal, earlier this year foraged 6 supermarket crates from the road at a junction that had come off/out of something.
