Freak Garden Accident

    @longk I was thinking that Nigel meant the scab was on the inside of the ear drum - i.e. in the inner ear. If it were the outer ear then syringing would get it. Although syringing is falling out of favour these days, micro-suction is the safest method according to my ENT consultant. It's a kind of minature dyson she uses :)

        Then let's be grateful for small mercies ;) :heehee:

        My youngest is currently having his syringed: 3 times in the right ear (so far!) and 2 lots in the left ear :huh:

            Well the good news is that the eardrum has healed, the bad news is that there is a moderate to severe hearing loss. The consultant thinks this is due to inner ear damage. So I have an MRI scan in a few weeks followed by a further consultation next year.
