FREE BULBS & FLOWERING SHRUBS

I also get Grow your Own sometimes, but I do get free offers if I like the look of whatever it is. Bulbs are the best I've had, I've got some gorgeous perfumed lilies that came from a magazine, 3 good sized bulbs for a small postage cost, which have in a couple of years increased well. I've just sent off for some free hellebores, for the postage I don't expect flowering size. What I do find disappointing sometimes are the freebies that come with mail order plants, often very small and as badsal says needing lots of tlc.
Gardening magazines are a very expensive way of aquiring information unless you keep them in an organised fashion like sharon's mum- they are often impulse buys and if you add up the cost over the year you could buy some very good books- but they do have up to date information about new varieties and methods.
