My two seem slow. Still in greenhouse in 1L pots and about 18" tall, maybe 24" - not really racing-up-the-cane as yet. Perhaps I'll keep them in the greenhouse as a pot-plant to ensure I get flowers & seeds this year?

Thanks for the update Kristen. I think they haven't had enough sun.

Not that I know how to keep them but I guess that would be the best idea.

Who knows? They may become a touch hardier next year. We may even get some sun of our own next year :noidea:

Ah, OK. Perennial. For some reason I had assumed it must be annual. I've Googled a bit and some articles recommend growing as a biennial, so I'm happy to be patient and wait, and keep it in the greenhouse this year if that's what it needs.

      Update:

Sorry, not got a very front-on photo. IMG_4034_ClitoriaTernata.jpg

      IMG_4034b_ClitoriaTernata.jpg

      IMG_4033_ClitoriaTernata.jpg

I reckon they are Double? (and I had assumed they would be Single). Sorry, photos not very sharp, but they are a smashing shade of blue, and very showy. They have been slow to grow for me (but then, this year, so has a lot of other stuff) and I will overwinter them to get a better / bigger plant next year

Thanks for the seed Jenny :ThankYou:

I tried growing these from seed this year Jenny , with no luck at all on the germination  Scanning through this thread it does seem to be a difficult plant . I may have another go next year.

A bit slow! Mine have only just hit 30cm! And that is only because they have a growth spurt on at the moment!

        Well done Kristen!:hapydancsmil:

Ah, well I feel a bit better now! Mine have been in greenhouse all summer, only planted out a week or so ago because they were starting to wind round other greenhouse plants ... so I figured they were ready to go out.

Going to have to keep it as a perennial if it grows that slow, as there is no way it will do "enough" in a single season as an annual - if this year is representative.

How sad , mine have al died , the cold spring didn`t help at all , need lots of warm ,
I still remember while i was in Thailand I had blue rice , they used the clitoria in the rice as colorant and when you add lemon juce it turn in purple .
