Frogs

Yes, there was one around a couple of weeks ago, but my pond is a bit enclosed by trees etc.
I dont think they like landing in enclosed areas.

 

Still no spawn here, far too cold.

 

Rich thats strange, you cant be far away from me, and its supposed to be a touch warmer in coastal areas. :confused:

 

It's still blinkin cold here and there was more spawn in both ponds this morning, and there are about a dozen frogs in both.

It wasn't in my garden :D
Anyway ...it stands about ten feet and is made of copper :rolleyes: A bit OTT I think for an ornament!

I have got frogs living under logs and a pond i made and no frog spawn..i would love some..i wonder why mine havnt mated i am most miffed!!my dog wouldnt hurt them hes too slow to catch a cold...

Frogs take 2/3 years to become sexually mature, maybe they just aren't old enough. One would presume that here as it is normally milder than the Midlands that all frogs would have spawned by now but mine although are in amplexus have still not done the business... yet. There is still time!

 

I am frog watching as well,but they are still at the bottom of the pond.They usually come to the top a few days before they spawn.
I think they are on hold until it gets warmer.
Can you blame them?

 

they probably just don't like being watched!

 

there's no hurry ... they only do it once a year so why not make it last?
