wildflower it seems a strange time of the year for them to be under logs, right now in this cold weather they should be in the ponds, they tend to move out to feed on mild damp evenings, (if we get any) from now onwards.
Thats what I tend to find. [IMG]

look at that spawn !! i want some..i bet my share is in next doors pond...the only thing i hate about frogs is they keep going in the greenhouse..i am not keen on them in their ..we were over run with frogs here when i moved in and neither us or the neighbours had a pond then..they are a lazy bunch of frogs anyway as i still get slugs chomping at my plants..we have fields at the rear so perhaps they are coming from their..we definately have some under logs as i saw them the other day..i also have a mouse i feed daily living under wood by the pond...my frogs cant be impotent they are big and little they have been breeding somewhere...i think they just come here to dance around in the greenhouse i hate it when you move a pot and one leaps out...i used to be scared of them when i moved in 18 years ago but have got used to them ..allthough i dont like them in the greenhouse..my last golden retriever used to carry them around the garden in the soft part of his mouth and move them around without hurting them..new location!! i am sure the frogs were not amused you would see a head hanging out one side of his mouth and two frantic legs the other side..the retriever i have now is not interested and he is so silly even the birds sit by him in the garden he is the gentle giant...

Had some new batches deposited last night, just as well as some of the first lots have been frozen near the surface.

They have gone mad this year all along the right side of the main pond and in the top pond. I've never seen so much. Day and night for the last five days and still at it.

I rarely see slugs in my garden.
