Does it have to be wine, Roders? And doesn't it really need to be a bottle, rather than a glass?? ;)

The pond is alive with black clouds of little wrigglers.

Loads of taddies in my friends little garden pond too. The goldfish (surprisingly) doesn't seem the least bit interested.

This is the first spring I've lived in house which has a garden pond and I have been absolutely transfixed watching the frog antics - I've seen 'em in amplexus in every conceivable position!

I read in a gardening magazine that it was possible but rare for a frog to attach itself to a fish and was worried that this would happen in my pond. It did .... several times.

Not many tadpoles left now however but after counting 14 pairs in amplexus at one 'sitting' I don't think I want any more froggies in my pond.

This is the problem with natural habitat being destroyed, frogs will breed anywhere unlike toads so a garden pond is ideal, trouble is there's often more frogs than a small garden pond can take and then there's the fish! :(
