Frogs in pairs in amplexus, no spawn yet netted one pair yesterday convinced the female was dead and the male was into necrophilia after a few seconds they both legged it back to the pond  I have the same problem as you Lyn I have a fish pond and a wildlife pond the frogs insist on mixing it with the fish, I end up having to ship the spawn from one pond to the other, I think the reason is one pond is in more sun than the other it must be slightly warmer hence more attractive.

Seen one or two frogs the past week or so, but pond has been frozen over the last few days, so nothing yet (it would be early for us though.)

Well - went into the garden last night and there were 2 frogs doing what froggies do in the pond YAY!!!! Unfotunatley, we had a cold night and although there was no ice on the pond, this morning there's just some small white bubbles - will it swell up during the day, or should it have done so by now????

We have got so many tadpoles in our pond that you can scoop handfuls out. The surface weed needs thinning out but we daren't do anything because it is also full of them:eek:

Our pond was 85% filled with frogspawn, full of frogs and a great success...until we came back from our holiday to Paris.

All the frogspawn had sunk and deteriorated, there waas a decomposing frog, the water was milky white, smelly, and beginning to bubble.

This is the second year this has happened. I am wondering if perhaps there is just TOO MUCH frogspawn?

Jarbax.. does not sound good for your frogs. I have not heard of that problem, but if I was to guess I have to agree its overcrowded.
