    Amazing pictures, Woo.......that white house in the one picture, is beautiful.
    So is the other house next to it, the one thats just visible through the tree's (pic 1)

    I think i've mentioned Donald Maxwell on a previous thread about your area, but i've just found this biographical link.

    If you can get hold of his book "Unknown Kent" i'm sure you'd love it.

    I did have nearly all the "Unknown Counties" series from the 1920s until my books went into storage.

    Mice love the animal glue that was used as a binder:cry3:I only have a few complete copies now.

    I bought the first one, Unknown Dorset, from a jumble sale for 1/-.

    Paid upto £30 each for the others:DOH:

    Hi Ziggy well I never look what I found:)As Del boy would say its one of my most favourite places is East Farleigh where I grew up by the River Medway mostly fishing and Down Hopping(Well thats not quite true as they say I have,nt grown up yet)ROFL
    I will make it the next place to go and visit.:)

    That will be a place of pilgrimage for me too Woo, if I ever get back that way.

    Have loved his books since I was little.

    I've stood on the same part of Red Hill, only 2 miles from where I live, as Donald did a sketch from in 1927. As part of "Unknown Somerset"

    Do you know Leon Roskilly ? He lives near you and fishes the Medway ?

    Hi Ziggy yes I will take some photos when I get there,can only find the book (Unknown Kent) in the U.S.A at the moment,Leon Roskilly have heard of him but have never met him,believe he lives in Gillingham about 4 miles from yours truly.:)
