Had to scrape the ice off the car at 5 p.m. So the cold snap has now reached us.

Oooohhh all the rooves are white and it's down to 0C on the patio. The sky is pinkish to the East and I think a few white flakes maybe on their way,

No frost this morning, but it was clearly cold last night as the Impatiens niamniamensis, Plectranthus argentus and Kalanchoe daigremontiana are all toast. Cold wind maybe?

It dropped down to -4C around midnight, then 'warmed' up to +1C by 6am. No sign of frost at first light, but my bananas and begonias have turned to mush so that counts as my first one.

Had our first frost here last night. Minimum of 0C. The only advantage of being on a slope is that apart from a bit of browning on the Canna leaves, no damage done:phew:

It went down to -2 here last night, but by dawn it was clouding over and the temp was rising slightly.
I do find this kind of frost the hardest to deal with, one minute freezing the next raining.

Down to -2.4 by dawn and white over, light cloud cover drifted in by mid-morning and left us with a lovely crisp hazy day that didn't get over 4 degrees all day but over that last hour it has risen to 5.2!

We had a very heavy frost this morning at 6am but the temperature increased quite a bit. It's relatively mild out this evening & cloudy so maybe a frost-free night tonight.
