I would love to only spend a fiver to put the heating on
Our central heating boiler, gave up the ghost during the night

Think I will sleep in the GH tonight, at 5c it is warmer than the house

Oh, Jack that is awful - do you not have any electric radiators to keep you going?

Not good. Try some whiskey...that will warm you up! Seriously though I hate being cold - sorry about your boiler. What a pain.

That's a shame Jack, pity you aren't closer, I've got a couple of spare electric heaters in case of emergency.

It ain't the fiver :) ... for some years we have been endeavouring to be more energy conscious, and starting the heating as late as possible in the year, and trying not to use after "Spring" is part of that ... but today I have relented, expecting a frost tonight :(

            Thanks all,
We have a living flame gas fire, in the lounge, so not totally frozen, and still have an
immersion heater, for hot water (never used it for years though ? )

Engineer coming at 09:00 Monday, but not holding out much joy, as he says he fitted it
nine years ago, and combi boilers are the thing now not back boilers
I sense a heavy bill arriving soon

Wilkos had 2kw fan heaters reduced to £3 last time I looked in there.
