Do spray the seaweed with a hose before even thinking about putting it on your earth/borders/compost :)

And, no, you are not a weirdo :heehee:

I first did this approx. 17yrs ago and I really thought I was being "inspirational" ... until I learned a hard fact of life: If I've thought it, there are umpteen x 10 who have thought of it already :roflol: (which, I have to say, was a hindrance when I was at Uni, because, unlike the youngsters - who held no apprehension in passing off their opinions as fact - I was wary of stating anything I couldn't validate with scholastic research, endorsed by umpteen and twenty prof's, and could withstand a juggernaut ploughing through it during a hurricane! ) Gosh, I'm so weary!!! :thud: :heehee:

But, at least on this topic, I have a smidgen of experience to draw upon :) (sadly, no academic research, endorsed by umpteen and twenty prof's though :heehee: )

I always look at the reduced plants wherever I go. Tend to think they have two choices, live or die.
Hydrangea I bought last year for a £1 that looked really weedy last year has flowered amazingly this year and the 6 lavender plants also for £1 are all flowering and quite happy.
