Gardening is a strange thing, Charlie. I forgot to put my wall pots of Perlargoniums into the Green House for the Winter and so they've suffered all the frosts, winds, etc all through this Season and they've survived very nicely so far.:dunno::heehee:

Something like Tomato feed, Freddy. I use it on all the pots and containers whenever I see plants are budding up. Other plants like Roses and Clematis really do appreciate a weekly feed of it after an initial feed of general purpose fertiliser like Miracle Grow or the like.:coffee::snork:

I overwintered some many years ago in a cold greenhouse. I think the main thing is to keep the frost off of them, and not allow too much water to be in contact. As I recall, I just put them in boxes with dryish compost over the top of them. Came back fine in the spring

Yes I agree, all plants seem to like Tomato feed, I've had really good results in the past using it :dbgrtmb:

image.jpg I inherited my fushia when I moved in 12 years ago. They are great plants. No matter how it's hacked at yes hacked describes the brutality perfectly it grows back with its beautiful flowers. Even the cuttings (pic) thrive. On seeing the delta's Sarah I feel another purchase coming over me

What a lovely fushia, you were lucky to have inherited it.
I had a beautiful fushia at my old house, I dug it up to bring it with me, but unfortunately it didn't survive, I've never managed to find another one. I don't have the name of it now but every year I look at fushia in a hope to find another one! :fingers crossed: One day maybe!

Sadly these were regal pelargoniums, I'm pretty sure they're dead though I haven't had the heart to chuck them yet. Been promised a visit to fibrex in March/April though to replace them.:wub2:

Out of interest, does anyone have a compost 'recipe' that seems to work particularly well with Fuchsias? I remember once using a mixture of 50/50 MP compost and well rotted manure, and I mean, well rotted! I had the best show I've ever had, with 'Pink Marshmallow' if I remember right.

As I said, the manure was very well rotted, maybe 4-5 years old? It just fell through the fork when I tried to lift it! Lovely stuff :)
