If she's on the Northern side ( from the French border across to Santiago ) she should be fine.

If she on the Southern ( west of Gibraltar ), it may be tricky because if the higher temps.

The new pic would be great thanks as there are about 20 of the Magellanica ( that's the species they're descended from ) red/purple types, and they're all different sizes.

If Voodoo is your favourite you should check out mine..... Royal Velvet, same colouring but bigger and more velvety flowers.

 

Not so north as Santiago and not as south as Gibraltar but more neighbours with Portugal, very green and not so dried out, I agree the weather is in high temps but in a pot it can be moved around or put under the BBQ area which is sheltered from direct sunlight.

Thank you for the opportunity of having a cutting that is very kind of you the problem I have is she is visiting us 1st August (her Birthday) as they are travelling around Europe and then going back home so I don't have the time. Now that I have the name I will check out the local garden centres and Other Fellow Fuchsias to see what I can find. They are coming in a motorhome so no problems for a plant gifts lol! Other than that we are driving down in September so I could take one then

It will be one of these two, you'll be able to tell better than me as the difference is only how the sepals lie when the flowers are fully open.

F. Magellanica Riccartonii.............

The sepals rise upwards as the flower opens.

( This is the one that is often seen growing wild in hedges in Western England, Western Scotland, Wales and Ireland ).

F. Magellanica Gracilis.................

The sepals stay down even when the flower is fully open.

It should have graceful arching branches and flowers along the stem, not just at the ends.
They can both reach a height of 9/10' when fully grown, but are easily kept in check with pruning.

As I recall the flower stays as it is and it does have graceful arching stems full of flowers so I'm more inclined to think it is Magellanica Gracilis, I have quite a number of them dotted around the garden. Thank you for your help in giving it its name, very much appreciated

I'm waiting for another one to open this is a pale pink and stands like a tree, I will take some photos of it tomorrow, luckily the falling tree missed it this one is probably 8' high and it will be very interesting to find out what that is too with your help

 

I have Gracilis, it's gorgeous isn't it, one if my favourites even though it's such a simple little thing.

Do you mean it grows like a tree or has been trained as a standard ?

Remember to take a pic if the whole thing ( probably from a distance Lol) and a close up of the flower.

 

I'm not sure it was hiding in a lot of bushes that I'm clearing out, only noticed it dew to the pink flowers

Not sure I'll get a good phot at the moment as its in the middle of all this

 

A photo of just a single flower will do if you can manage it will do it.
I've got two in mind but I don't wanna say yet till I've seen it.

It's definitely a Fuchsia Encliandra cultivar.

Can't really tell off your pic whether it's a deep pink or red, but do any of the following ring a bell.........

Ariel........ Magenta
Katinka.....Scarlet
Lottie Hobby.... Deep red ( this is probably the most popular)
Mrs Lee Belton.... Red
Oulton Red Imp..... Red
