This is my experiment on a few cuttings, last time I did cuttings I used rooting powder with various success, so trying this way in water. (No we dont eat a lot of take aways before anyone says)

Hi @Freddy I'm sorry to be so long answering you but I haven't been able to come on here for a few days.
I've had Hidcote Beauty for many years. I got it from Brynawel Fuchsia Nursery near Cardiff, but they don't sell so many varieties now. Last time I went there it was hopeless and I haven't been back there since.

I could look on my plant to see if there are any cuttings if you like.

That's a most kind offer, but I'd be looking at maybe 15-20 plants in the spring. Just been looking at a couple of websites and a bit confused. Is it meant to be a partially hardy variety?

Oh dear @Freddy I won't be able to get that many cuttings lol

Clay Lane Nursery and Lockyer Fuchsias have it. Good luck ! I hope you can get it.

It isn't hardy. I put it in a shed for the winter.

Lockyer Fuchsias is where I bought mine from, not far from me. As I said, the plants I bought didn't really perform, the last time I bought some. Mind you, I was a bit late, so I guess I got the 'left-overs'.

Yes, it's best to order them early.
I usually order mine in Jan or Feb and they get delivered about April/May, but this year I ordered some in June and I'm still waiting for them. It won't be worth having them if they don't deliver them soon.

              Hi Michael,

I've had " Shrimp Cocktail" for a couple of years now and I've found it to be one if the earliest to flower, and bear in mind that it's a child of " Beacon" which is one of the hardiest around.
Admittedly though, the first few flowers are always a plain pink before it gets all the different markings.
It's probably been my best performer this year.

PS.... I'm still waiting for my " Anita " to flower.

              PPS... Love the " Lechlade Magician ". I've got three Lechlades, " Gorgon ", " Bullet " and " Violet ".

Hi all, but especially for @Michael Hewett ,

I remember you saying you liked " Rufus " , I think you should try this one.......

                        " Ravenslaw "

                        WP_20160823_013.jpg

It's another all red hardy, and I think I prefer it. It's a larger flower and a much brighter true red.

That's a lovely one @Anthony Rogers - Never heard of it before. I must look out for it.
My Rufus is still waiting to be planted in the ground. I must try and find time to do it today.
