Fuchsias - 2016

Thanks for your comments and interest in my Fuchsias

@Beckie76 yes I put some dotted around the garden, and on the patio - i.e. the bigger ones. The others are kept in a shady Perspex shelter on the north side of my garage.
I also have many hardy varieties that I leave in the ground all year.

@Anthony Rogers I don't know exactly how many I've got. Sometimes one dies, and sometimes I buy a few more. I think it's somewhere around 100 varieties, and after my 18 new ones arrive, it will definitely be over 100 ...

 

Good signs on the fuchsia boliviana and boliviana Alba and denticulata all have new bud showing. Hopefully will be able to take some cuttings this year.

I'm going to list mine so I know where I stand, but, at the moment I think I'm just beating you.

 

@Anthony Rogers I've ordered them from Other Fuchsia nursery. They should arrive any time now. I've had Fuchsias from them in the past and they are very good.
BeeHappy has said in another thread that she's ordered some from there as well.

I may make a list of mine too, so that I have a more accurate number.

Really good nursery. I can't remember who gave me the heads up on them but it was on here. They also do a few interesting Salvia.

 

My new Fuchsias arrived today, from Other Fellow Fuchsias. I have potted them up. 18 in all ... Some were second choices because the ones I named were not available, but I don't mind - I would have sent for them eventually anyway.

 

Hi I'm looking for the "Space shuttle" Fuchsia , not seen it in any of the GC's in the Carlisle area so guess it will have to be mail order .

Clay Lane Nurseries sell " Space Shuttle ", I've put the phone number on an earlier post.

It's a good choice if you want something a bit more unusual especially if you want a Winter flowerer.

Not sure if it will be of interest but noticed that my local Lidl had a lot of fuchsias for sale today in I think 6 packs. It was raining so I wasn't hanging around and just noticed in passing but they seemed to have a lot of different varieties (seemingly named in German?).

Edit; Think they were 3.99 per pack and they looked in excellent shape to me.

May be worth a gander ...
