Basically, I'm trying to get a selection together that won't require too much work and sodding around overwintering and such!

      Started yesterday

Cut the left half down to the ground, and started digging
One or two deep tap type roots, the rest were sort of ground cover about two inches under the ground horizontal

All gone now, soil was excellent and I have now got runner beans, and carrots in

Do not suppose that is good in a Fushia thread :(

Here is a couple of pictures of my fuchsia's sorry don't know there names, the first one comes up every year as a lovely big bush, my son bought it for me when he was 7 at his school fete it was a small shoot then, my son will be 28 this September so i've had the fushcia many many years now but still look forward to it blooming each year, the 2nd picture is a small bush which i've had about 6 years had it as a small plant given to me as a gift in a pot, but i planted it out into my border and it took very well and seems to be getting larger each year it blooms. :)

To Jack McHammocklashing _ : ) Aren't fuchsia's great ? ! Even in Fife they r utterly irrepressable ! U r gonna have to be careful to get all that root out coz this one clearly loves u and they will make it back from some missed root if they r really fond of u - I've had the same problem in a bed that was turned over to be a succulent / deserty bed covered in slate and I've never seen anything look more out of place but its heavily involved with the roots of a big old cordyline so I've just had to admit defeat and just keep it under control ! : )

                    Hi Davy.
Yep thats Brian Breary, i have a soft spot for the encliandras,i grow 7 different one's, have a nice ring of Brian Breary that should make the Scottish fingers crossed.
The only species i grow are the Procumbens find the rest grow to big for transporting to show in a small car, and only limit myself to growing mini standards for same reason.
Have to get on the good side of the other half (if i can find it) and talk her into getting a camper van :heehee:.

                    Hi Bob
I have grown encliandras in the past but moved on ..I have one small F. procumbens variegata at the moment..I did grow some really good Procumbens a few years ago but now stuggle with them damping off ..

I still have Boliviana..and Boliviana alba and a few of the Lechlades .
I used to show at Shrewsbury (in the dingle) many years ago but out of touch with todays show varieties ,I will have to pick your brain on varieties.
When is your show/or shows Bob ?

                    Dave
