The Fuchsia triphylla is looking sad in the garage, it id fed up of waiting for Spring to show up, so it can grow new foliage.. it is one of the only evergreen Fuchsias around, due to coming from the humid tropical climate of Bolivia, but right now mine looks like it would prefer to lose its leaves!

I have 2 Tryphillas 1 in 5" pot and 1 in 6" pot not much growth on either, but the one in the 5" pot has flower buds. Both on a heated sand bed with a fan heater for general heat 5ยบ min.

Checked four the hardy Flashlight fuchsias I left in the ground and one is fine, not sure about the others yet. Oh the tension!
 Glad I'm not the only one who apologises to plants. Said sorry to a bush the other day when I caught my handbag on it.

I should have brought my Thalia and Gm Bonstadt into the greenhouse last October bfore the first frosts. They both dropped and the tops are dead but there are signs of life at the base. All the other trailers, Blue Eyes, Marcus Graham, Pink Galore, Wendy's Beauty etc all have early growth.

Heated sand bed . Wooden frame 6 inches high on a base, I use polythene inside then a 2 inch layer of sharp sand. Then a cable rated only a few watts and a thermostat with the cable wired through it, Then put another 2 inch layer of sand on on top. this sand is then kept damp. Pots are then put on the sand and you have bottom heat with a small amount of heat around the plants.
