Lechlade Chinaman looks a little like a F.procumbens hybrid?

The 1970's photo is one hell of a Fuschia Howard - fantastic :dbgrtmb: How many seasons would it take to grow a decent sized half standard

HarryS. Cutting would have been rooted in febuary, grown on and shown the next year in august, the plant was nearly 6ft tall, and took it to the show laying in a large van, with a friend in the back cradling it just below the head, luckily the journey was only about 4 miles :D

Davygfuchsia. Jim watts is very hardy and makes a lovely compact bush, very free flowering, and ive never lost an outdoor plant of it,even though some years minus 10.Pleased to say ive a vested interest in it as its one of my own introductions when i was hybridising a few years back.Named after a now deceased uncle of mine, who was an expert gardener, and a ww2 war hero.

                regards Howard

                Longk .
Have you ever come across Ken Belton ,Clay Lane Nursery near Redhill Surrey. If not check out his website .
Not a big place, but plants are good and true to name .Let me know what you think .
I did have a phase of growing Fuchsia Species ,don't get may flowers on some but usually worth the wait..

                Hi Howard ..
I have often thought of hybridising but always seem to move onto another project first .
I see you are from Luton ...once went to a talk from a lady hybridiser ,an ex school teacher I think ,I thought see was from Luton but I cannot recall her name ..
Is Jim Watts on general sale ,where might I find it if so ?

                Dave

Jim watts is on sale at quite a few places, think its on Duchy of cornwall nurseries, and quite a few others, been a while since i googled fuchsia jim watts, but at least half a dozen places have it,ive even seen it on ebay

                regards Howard
