Fungus Foray

    This fungus is covered by glistening, shiny stuff. Whether you think they are beautiful or ugly or just plain weird - they are essential. Without them, dead trees, branches and leaves would not decompose and we would have no leaf mould. The forest would die.

    I have never seen so many mushrooms in all my life each one is amazing they are fascinating things .. :rolleyes:

    We quite often walk the dogs through the woods on the way to the beach and see lots of mushrooms, but its the first time we have seen these Earth Stars.

    If you prod earth stars or let drops of water fall on them - you will see clouds of spores puffed out
