G4S

Only just found this thread and haven't read all of it. The question I want answered is why in the LOGOC planning documents (2005-8) they estimated that they would want 8,500 security personnel, they then awarded a contract to G4S for 2,000 personnel in 2010 (giving them 2 years to do the work) and then only in December 2011 upped the contract to 10,000 - not only far exceeding the original estimate but simple maths saying that G4S were expected to find 4 times as many staff in the last 8 months as they'd originally been asked to find in 2 years.

With even a CRB check taking 12 weeks, how could they possibly have fulfilled the contract so why was it offered and why was it accepted?

I also suspect the use of army and police was actually planned all along although I would like to be proved wrong. I'm not really a fan of conspiracy theories and would love to think I lived in a country where I could believe what I was told.
