Power cuts don't affect their use.

More of a kitchen tool than a gadget really, but I love this. Removes the core and loosens 2-3 outer leaves from brussels sprouts so they cook more evenly and rapidly! Only cost me £5.50 from Ebay and I use it all the time. :)

A tea infuser is a favourite for me. Easy for making a single mug of tea, in the mug, without the need for a teapot. Loose tea has a much better depth of flavour than tea bags. Best reasonably priced loose teas I like include Twinings Assam, M&S Luxury Gold and Teapigs Everyday brew.

Thanks for that, I just bought an infuser but hadn't got round to buying any loose tea yet!

I was just looking at the reviews for the Teapigs Earl Grey on Amazon and found this classic comment along with a picture of a dog:

Excellent tea lovely & strong will certainly be buying more of this love the Cornflower petals. Looking forward to summer will go lovely with my home made rose petal gin. I hope you like the photo of my dog I'm disabled & shake taking a photo is almost impossible but Amazon insists that one can't leave a review without a photo. Personally I hate these stupid reviews I have yet to have a supermarket ring me up & ask how l got on with their brand name loo roll after a Tomtit.
