    @Loofah

    I know how you feel with the aches.
    Few days ago I was busy with waterproofing on the roof and had to contort myself into positions that even Zlata would have been envious of.
    I really paid the price for the next two days.

        Main construction done and I've sealed between the brickwork and the timber.

        Now I need to strip the old white paint and pick what I'm going to coat the bright new timber with! I do have some dark creocote...

          I also need to de-crap that corner area before starting the border... I'll do that while chopping up and burning the old doors (unless anyone wants them?!)

          It's looking good Loofah! Regarding the coating for the wood, something that would blend with the colour of the brickwork perhaps. I don't know how dark creosote is these days as I haven't used it for donkeys years, it could be the way to go though. :)

          Oh how I ache! Have lifted some of the heavy concrete slabs today and dug out the hardcore and concrete underneath. Making a border out of the mess all that leaves behind and underneath is a real labour of love!
          But, getting there...

            Ah, there was another small adjustment just to left of garage - there was a small wooded plinth that has now been removed and the slab shifted to fill the gap. Mrs L wants the corner free for the washing line!

                A small suggestion if I may, place an angled aluminium strip all along the bottom to deflect water and stop it from sitting there are causing problems.

                I have pondered it Dave, although there is a small piece of flashing down there already (probably can't see in the pics) and it's [the concrete base area] slightly sloped too which helps loads. I'm hoping that once planted up it won;t be a prob but will keep an eye on it.

                Just got 1st quote back for the glazing - £50, all panes 4mm glass. No idea if that's good or not!
