Garden blogs

And what's wrong with that?!
I'm quite young, there are pretty much no other people my age into gardening (further proved by my horticultural society visit). So I DON'T know any real people to share my experience with, which is totally out of my control.
I think blogs are great, and being more likely to stay on topic (unlike a thread) makes them good in a different way to forum posts (but not necessarily better).

 

I don't think people write blogs to seek validation/express superiority at all. More to share their experiences.
Its about as sensible as saying that people who start threads are attention seeking!

 

We're all real people. This thread is a very dynamic discussion. Not like a blog. I see blogs as something like a diary that you share. It is the blogger's own stuff. He/she will get minimal feedback, but that's fine because they are right and they don't want anyone to question that. Whereas a thread on a forum is more of a chat in down the pub or over the garden fence. It might start on a given subject and it might even generally stay on subject, but it is not all about the blogger, everyone gets to share their opinions and wisdom or even daft ideas, but the point is this is no different to chatting with a group of people anywhere. The fact that its online is just the medium.

 

Aren't they? Are we not ALL on here looking for attention? Why else would we come on here? If we started 100 threads over the course of a month and not a single person replied, how many of us would stick with it?

 

I agree with what you are saying about forums for discussion but...

I give up. That is a huge assumption, I'd like to see proof that bloggers actually think that.

 

Its impossible to prove, because as I keep pointing out, its just my perception of the situation. Its my opinion. The expression of which is possible when its a fully open discussion, but much more difficult in the more formal and constrained setting of a blog.
