Your pond and stream looks lovely paladin, we have gravel at the bottom of our stream, but like your idea of sand, but doesnt' it run into the stream?

W Gardener, The sand is old 'play' sand ,just mixed with gravel in the waterfall and stream. The water gently trickles over it, and helps filter the pond.
I have removed the potted Grasses that replace the Iris when they die back, which act as a screen,to show you the moulded Fall.

It's lovely, bad news for us though, my husband couldnt' have put the mould right down into the hole because today it slipped and water started to trickle out at the side, he's propped it up with another yard brush, now we have to wait until the weekend to empty it again, oh dear what a palarvar. Just when i was enjoying the pond lights shining on the plants too.

Paladin, ah, now i see it.

Weekend gardener, your hubby must have put it in as far as it will go, if he didnt the weight of the water would have pulled it down. I suspect he didn't back fill the sides as it was filled with water though.

thats right, but if you look on my last reply (number one) you will see that we couldn't fill the side in on sunday because it was getting dark, so thats why it has to be left until the weekend when my husband isn't working.

The back filling is one of the things i loath about moulds especially with those with tapering steped sides!

    Hope you get yours sorted.

Well we have the pond back in again. my husband made a kind of wooden support for the side that wanted filling in but it took that long to do then when he started to fill in with sand, he hadn't got enough so it was back to the shop for some more, then when he came back i filled it little more in.
I was laying down the side of the pond pressing in as hard as i could, but again the weather was so bad i had to leave it.
we have family coming for lunch tomorrow so we will have to finish it on monday now.
at least the water won't go over the side now it has the support.
